Audrey's artistry is rooted within her childhood passion for beach glass. In spite of her mother's words: "For the love of god, child, could you please stop bringing garbage home from the beach", Audrey persisted. Her husband Mark's insistence on 'doing something with her collection' further motivated her creativity.

After years of pondering what could be made with these gems from the shoreline, Audrey took it upon herself to transform selected beach glass pieces and various patterns of wire, into jewelry. Being a very determined woman, she began learning the craft of "bijouterie" (transforming found items into jewelry). The only tools at her disposal were her creativity, stubborn nature, and a sturdy pair of hardware pliers.

Since wire wrapping was not an option in her mind, Audrey decided the most effective method would be drilling a hole to ensure that each piece would be held securely. The smooth edges of the glass, which the ocean had worked so long and hard to shape, needed to be seen and touched. Audrey's new challenge now was to drill without breaking brittle glass that had been battered and aged by nature.

Audrey has a natural intuitive talent that enables her to envision individual pieces of beach glass in their intended finished state. Consequently, she is able to determine the work and wire pattern that best suits each piece.

As the popularity of the business grew, so did her artist's skills. Audrey developed new techniques and patterns and began working with various metals such as gold, silver, copper and brass.

Audrey is gifted with a wild imagination so her creations are constantly evolving, making Hudson Oddities' bijouterie, beach glass jewelry, unique. Her callused fingers tell the story of a determined woman who believes in authenticity and good old fashioned hard work!
